Four Parishes Arts Society - September 2003

The latest outing was a coach trip to the City of London entitled "Hidden London". We had an excellent and very knowledgeable guide who took us around the back streets, to Billingsgate Market and, a real highlight, St Bartholomew's church. We then spent some time at Camden Lock exploring the market before boarding a canal boat to Little Venice. An excellent day out.

The AGM took place on 9 September, followed by a very informative talk by Paddy Ryan on Rome in the First Century AD. We were all amazed at the depth of his knowledge and were very grateful to him for filling in at short notice when our speaker had to cancel due to illness.

The next meeting is on 14 October at Quarley Village Hall and is to be a demonstration of Oil Landscapes by Mark Flemons.

The Society welcomes new members from any of the four parishes. Members are not all active artists but those with an interest in art in the broadest sense. The programme for the coming year is very varied and can be found on the website of any of the villages. Anyone who is interested in joining should contact the Secretary, Caroline Unwin (772375). - PMG
