Four Parishes Arts Society - June 2004

The outing to Kew gardens this month was a sell-out and, due to Veronica Bacon's organization, went without a hitch. It was a very hot day so we were glad of the air-conditioned coach and we did find the Palm House and the Princess of Wales Conservatory a little too warm ! ! We had three guides who filled us in on the historic and ethnic aspects of the gardens as well as plant information especially in relation to their curative properties. We also had time to wander at our leisure or catch the road train around the extensive grounds. A truly memorable visit.

The next meeting, on 13 July, is at Quarley Village Hall and will be a demonstration by Val Morris entitled "Do It With Flowers".

The outing to Tyntesfield on 31 August is now fully booked but anyone who wishes to go on the reserve list should ring Veronica Bacon (771285). Those members who belong to the National Trust will of course need to take their cards with them. - PMG
