Four Parishes Arts Society - May 2005

At the April meeting, Mike Hansen and Jim Hanson, members of the Andover Photographic Society, gave us an interesting talk on the relative merits of conventional photography and digital photography. Both speakers were fortunate in having been able to convert their hobbies into the work place and Jim still works with his son-in-law in the wedding studio. We learned the best way to use flash, how to prevent 'red eye' and tricks to get the best from shutter speeds. With the digital camera and computer there are endless possibilities to adjust photos; as Jim said 'nowadays the camera can lie!'. The photographs they showed us were inspiring and we enjoyed a very good evening.

Next month's meeting is at Quarley Village Hall at 8.00 p.m. on Tuesday 10 May, with Margaret Beale demonstrating embroidery using a soldering iron. This is a change from the advertised programme.
