Four Parishes Arts Society - July 2005

Our June meeting, held at Monxton & Amport Village Hall, was entitled 'The Wonder of Watercolours' and Wendy Jelbert certainly introduced us to her wonderful art in no small measure. She demonstrated how she can produce, with the use of texture paste, water-soluble inks and the successful use of masking fluid, a stunning 'Cafe Scene' in just one and a half hours.

Wendy runs workshops and courses from her studio in Lymington as well as weekend and holiday courses at West Dean College in Sussex. She brought a selection of cards, videos and books with her, which were available for members to buy during the evening.

Next month we have a return visit from Robina Orchard with a practical evening, the subject being: 'So you think you can paint'. The meeting will be at Quarley Village Hall on 12 July at 8 o'clock. Should be good!

There is no meeting in August but there is an outing on 6 August for Music and Fireworks at Highclere Castle. For details contact Renata West.
