Four Parishes Arts Society - September 2006

The highlight in July for the society was the picnic held at the Hawk Conservancy on a beautiful summer's evening - perfect weather, good company!  We were entertained with an amusing talk by Ashley Smith about the origins of the conservancy from its earliest beginnings and its development into the present-day trust. He had us enthralled with tales of his father and the colourful characters who worked for him. We ended the evening with a stroll around the wild flower meadow and a flying display.

August saw us having a pictorial trip around Salisbury Cathedral with Kathy Quinn, one of the cathedral official guides. She was full of stories and retains so much knowledge about everything to do with Salisbury and its cathedral. Her slides were great and we enjoyed a most interesting evening.

We meet in September for our AGM at Grateley Village Hall at 7.30 p m on Tuesday 12th, to be followed by a talk from Renata West entitled' Art as Therapy'.
