Neighbourhood Watch News

This month has seen very little reported crime in the four villages apart from one particular evening in Amport with several break-ins and attempted break-ins to cars and garages. Whilst we may be powerless to prevent this opportunistic crime, we can reduce the success of these crimes by being more vigilant towards our own and our neighbour’s property. This is not ‘curtain twitching’ it is just common sense.

Our ideal of living in a quiet, rural environment has to be tempered with reality and we should take care to keep vehicles, garages and outbuildings locked at all times. We have to be aware that there are people who view our situation as just another opportunity for criminal activity and the chance to make money. John Stamp, Grateley
