Mr Ian Morrison (Chairman) Parish Council MinutesOfficial minutes recorded by the Parish Clerk - Bus Shelters - North of ParishIt has been brought to the Parish Council's attention that the two bus shelters in the North of the Parish (at the start of Fairways and by the Weyhill Fair site) are beginning to fill with rubbish. The four other shelters in the Parish are kept clean by a local volunteer and we are looking for someone who lives nearby to look after these on a fortnightly or 'as required' basis. The Parish will pay £100 per annum for this service and will any volunteers please phone our Clerk, Suzanne Hoare, (771469 or e-mail to suzanne.hoare@btinternet.com) Suggestions for Community Project - North of ParishAmport Parish Council is quite rightly regularly reminded by the local Councillor that very little of the precept is spent in the area to the North of the Parish. We have tried for many years to create a playground but this has so far proved impossible. We are now asking if any resident of the Parish has any thoughts on how we can redress this problem by letting us have suggestions for any community-based project. Please send any idea you may have to our Clerk, Suzanne Hoare (tel. 771469 or e-mail suzanne.hoare@btintrernet.com). Roadside LitterI am sure that most of you will have noticed recently how much litter is lying on our roads. This is very depressing when we are so lucky to live in such beautiful surroundings and, if something is not done soon, the problem is likely to deteriorate as road users will have no compunction in adding to the blight. To counter this, Amport Parish Council has bought three ‘litter pickers’ for anyone in the Parish to use so that the area near them can be kept litter-free. One is held at the School, one with Suzanne Hoare (771469), and one with me, Ian Morrison (771174). Please ring whenever you would like to borrow one, or even make up an expedition and borrow all three. There will be no training, no uniform, no gloves and no sacks issued – we are not asking the advice of H&S, European Human Rights, or doing Risk Assessment ! Just volunteer if you are at all concerned. The problem can be solved far faster and more efficiently than could be achieved by T.V.B.C or the courts.
