Gore, Mrs Carolyn Mallam, Mr Maurice Hardy, Mrs Sarah Hammer, Mrs Diana
Preston, and Mrs Suzanne Hoare (Clerk).
The village correspondent was present plus 1 members of the public.
Apologies - Lt Col Stephens, (Vice Chairman), Mr Neville Geake and Mr Tim
Southern - these were accepted.
2. Minutes of the Previous Meeting
The minutes were agreed and signed, having been
proposed by Bill Gore and seconded by Diana Preston
3. Matters Arising from the last meeting
Concern from a local resident Mr Plumbe about the
application to turn Green lane into a BOAT has been passed onto Monxton PC to
gauge and reinforce their reaction.
Andover Airfield Development – We still do not have an application to discuss,
however Ian Long felt the parish Council should place itself in a strong
position to fight this issue as and when it arises. Ian Morrison was given a
mandate by the Parish Councillors present to approach all other local Parish
Councils to determine whether they would like to form a steering committee on
this issue and secondly whether they would be prepared to share the cost of a
senior planning consultant should one be deemed necessary.
4. Reports
The Green
All the recent correspondence from Mr Walker at Test
Valley Gardencare was read out at the meeting and councillors aired their views
on the matter. Councillors were pleased that Mr Walker had offered other work in
return for payment of his invoice but felt that he should be asked to do the
work before payment was made.
VDS
This issue is ongoing.
Footpaths and Highways
Maurice Hardy reported that he has again been in
contact with Paul Walsh about several areas in the Parish where
the road surface has broken up and awaits a response.
The track on the Green was mentioned by Ian Long as beginning to deteriorate but
Parish Councillors felt that no action should be taken at the present time.
Amport Fen
Mr Horne was not present, a full report will be given
at the Annual Parish Meeting – however there would appear to be problems with
the sewage filtration system at East Cholderton so a watch should be kept on
Pill Hill Brook.
