Amport is a small village four miles west of Andover and over 300 ft above sea level, in the valley of Pillhill brook. It is a beautiful village containing several thatched cottages, some of which were built in the 15th and 17th centuries.
The village is mostly centred around the green by the Church
of England school. The green is used for school games and local events such as
maypole dancing and fetes.
There is a herd of Highland Cattle and a Longhorn Bull in the meadows between
Amport and East Cholderton. They can usually be seen grazing peacefully by the
