Four Parishes Arts Society - February 2004

Last month's meeting was held in the Art Department of Cricklade College. We were treated to an inspiring pottery demonstration by Kevin Green, whose enthusiasm for his art form was infectious. He took us through all the stages from the varieties of clay used, on to kneading and turning and through to the finished articles which included bowls, pots and plates. 

It was a joy to watch a craftsman at work and to see that, in an age of mass production, crafts are being kept alive and indeed passed on to the next generation. In fact some of us were motivated to sign up and have a go ourselves! !

The next meeting is on Tuesday, 9 March at 8pm at Quarley and will be a demonstration by Elizabeth Nash entitled Painting on Silk.
